Everybody worries from time to time and this appears to be increasing for many people during the world pandemic.  For some, worry can be regarding multiple concerns at once, it can last for hours, and it can occur daily.  This can be highly distressing for people as it can cause sleep disturbance, frustration, tiredness, restlessness, and distraction.  Below is a quick decision tree to go through should you find yourself continually worrying about something.

Step 1: Write down what you are worrying about.

Step 2: Ask yourself, is this a problem I can do something about?

Step 3: If the answer is no, try to let the worry go and focus your attention onto something else.  If the answer is yes, list your options of things you can do about your worry.

Step 4: Ask yourself, is there anything on this list that I can do right now?

Step 5: If the answer is no, write down the plan of what you could do and when you could do it.  Now, try to let the worry go and focus your attention onto something else.  If the answer is yes, do it now.  Then, try to let the worry go and focus your attention onto something else.
