This is a unique time in history as so many people are struggling with the stresses of the pandemic, coupled with the stresses of a recession.  So how do we cope with so many adversities all at once?  I recently had the pleasure of attending a webinar that focused on helping clients face adversity during the COVID-19 pandemic, given by Dr. Sanjay Rao, Psychiatrist.  Facing these unique adversities can be coped with in three ways:

  1. Cope by problem-solving your adversities
  2. Cope by looking at your adversities from a different perspective
  3. Cope by accepting and tolerating your emotions that are resulting from your adversities

You are able to engage in these types of coping by utilizing your inherent strengths (i.e., what drives you, what comes natural to you, what gives you energy) and your resources (i.e. friends/family, community, professional help).

If you need some help with facing adversity or just need a supportive ear, please book an appointment for support. I am accepting new clients – please feel free to contact me to inquire about services.
